LCD display problem....

Hiya,

I found something about this in the Leon forum, and was wondering if the same thing would apply to the problem I have with my lovely little Ibiza chill.

The car outline on the display was flashing 5 times (which in the manual stated that there was a problem with the air con, but it stuill worked, so I stupidly left it) I presume this was the start of the problem.

then I didn't drive the car for a while, leaving the battery to go flat. now its fully charged but the display panel only shows the time (11:28) and nothing else.

the buttons for the fan and air con have also refused to work, so I've had to take the fuse out to stop the fan from blasting out really cold air. All fuses I can access are ok (engine and under the steering column) but not sure if there are any 'hidden' ones!

the worst bit is that I now have to drive in silence, and I'm having to do a long journey from Soton to leeds - I need tunes!

any advice would be most appreciated,

ta muchly,

Windle

You need to get the car checked on vagcom (or next best thing) to access the panel and find out what has gone wrong. Have a look in the vagcom section of the forums and see if someone local to you can check the car for a beer or two.

sorry, being a bit dim, where would I find the fuses? I have no idea how to get the head unit out as there seem to be no allen key/bolt/screw points.
