LC Exhaust Bracket

I have noticed over the last couple of days that the exhaust outlets on my LC have looked a bit low compared to the opening in the bumper, so i've just been under the car to see what is going on and the bracket that is infront of the back box towards the centre of the car has rusted through and the exhaust is sagging. The car is still under warranty so can I expect to get a new back box. I don't particularly want them to weld the bracket back on but don't know if this is covered by the warranty.

Also I seem to remember seeing a post on here were someone else had problems with their exhaust and was going to see if they could get the sports back box and pay the difference between the two, anybody know if this can be done?

Our LCR has a creak coming from the rear so the stealer looked at it and said the bracket for the bac box is cracked. They are replacing it cause it can't be welded. It's getting itted on Fri so will keep you posted and hopefully no more creaking

If the car is under warranty you should be OK.

I had the same thing on my LCR recently, and the dealer's noticed it at the 20k service without me having to prompt them about it. They then replaced the exhaust backbox under warranty, even though it did take 5 weeks for them to be able to get hold of one!

Ive noticed the rubbers stretch very easily on the lc making the box sag, mine is booked in tomorrow for a new exhaust, im not waiting for it to rust and break, saying that the centtre section already has a little water leaking out.

The same happened to my LC about 2 years ago the whole back bracket was completly rusted and broke so i took it too the dealers and they replaced the whole back section under warranty, which i thought was a result. So give it a try.

Been to dealers today, they had a look and said they would weld the bracket back on, bit disappointed as this is what you're usual exhaust centre would do.

couple more pics to show how it looks. one other bonus is that vagcom now shows g/s is up to 183 g/s from 174 (when tip was fitted last week, before that again it was around 167 !! nice few gains there, the car wants to rev right round now even more so than just the tip on its own.
