One of the complaints of the V6 was that it was too heavy an engine over the front wheels.

As for the LCR, it has another intercooler on top of the standard one does it not? I'm sure the turbo related gubbins add a few KG's

Indeed no dispute in the engine position it was nose heavy. LOL FLapper, fair point though! Still LCR is pretty dam heavy, I mean it weighs more than an EVo 8 FQ300 and an IX200

Exact same weight as an S3 with 4WD too boot.

Bigger diameter exhaust, additional sub fram at front suspension, full size spare alloy (20kg) and the weight includes full fluids and a driver (75kg) according to Seat themselves. I don't think all other manufacturers quote the kerb weights as full fluids (ie. some may be half tank of petrol and no driver weight added).

I have yet to hear of anyone taking theirs to a weigh bridge, try a search it was discussed some time ago but no had weighed one back then.

Still it's all relative and the Leon cupra is 54kg lighter, which can be apportioned to Bigger diameter exhaust, additional sub fram at front suspension, full size spare alloy (20kg) and intercooler/pipework. Surprising how quickly it all adds up.

I have 2 plastic bafs of parts i'v eeither removed or replaced with uprated parts (all mostly plastic) and it must weigh at least 20kg all in.

Still at least the new Leon will be a sleek, light, coupe shape and will buck current "Transit Van" trends

Leo, where do Seat mention how the weight of the car is calculated?

Nope Leo, the S3 is 1475kg, so another 100kg or so for the 4wd gubbins. :bleh:

ermm.. no it's not :D

Maybe the new one will be, but all the mags figures i've looked at refer to 1375kg for it

LOL sorry, thought i had replied

I emailed Seat about a year ago, if you do a search it was discussed at some length - still no one has reported putting one on a weigh bridge to verify it

No problem m8.

Hmm looked for it but cant find it....do u have the reply from Seat?

Its just that when comparing car weights and bhp/ton it seems people arent comparing like for like.
eg CTR weight is without a driver and i think its also without fluids so it isnt comparable to a LCR in its current state.

Has anyone weighed their LCR on a weigh bridge and what weight did it come out at? was this with a full tank of petrol & all other fluids and them sat in it?
