Yesterday i installed the kinetic kit ( this is the kit )
The manifold is a lot bigger than the stock one and by the way it didn't need any mods to fit.
The turbo (001) was delivered in a genuine borg wagner box.
the only extra part i bought is a 4bar fpr (bosch item), this is because my map is running a 3bar fpr so is a cheap way to get the extra needed fuel.
we replaced the vaccum hose that it goes to the egr valve, the stock one has a T fitting for the 2port k03 wastegate, the k04 has single port wastegate
after we bolt all the parts we got the car on the road....
first impression is that it has less lag than before (full boost @ 2500rpm) and is running a bit rich at idle and low speeds.
then we test a wot run and we see 1.7bar of boost and it holding 1.2 at 6000rpm, the car is having a monster torque but it didn't seem too happy at the upper revs, i look to the o2 volt and i see 0.78-0.80 LEAN!!
so i decide to lower the boost with a custom bleed valve, a 8mm T fitting, in place of the n75 (but still connected to its fuse)
i took the vag-com and went for logging
the results were great
the car makes 1.1overboost and it hold 1bar until 5500 then it drops 0.8 at 6000
CF is only 0.8 at 4th cyl at low rpm. the other cyl's are 0 (EKO 100 fuel)
AIT was 42c when the ambient temp was 33c
o2 volt was .90v
the car is a lot faster than before!!!
today i will test it to see how it has improved.
next step is a boost controller to raise the boost at high rpms.
