Thats what i thought! Still cant justify so much money for a set of the PIAA Teras...

At the price for a set of these it will be worth trying them out and if they do fail (fingers crossed they dont...) i can sell them onto a mate that doesnt have the canbus system issue

These are what you want

http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/other-products.html

They are not LED's, they are filament bulbs and they match 600k HID's perfectly whilst being prety bright too.

Way Way better than LED's

Read this thread from an astra forum and check the pics

I've had a set of those, they are very dim compared with normal sidelights and look green next to 6000k HIDs. Mine didn't last very long either. hope this helps.

Will they work in my Leon FR if they work in an Astra VXR...?

Cheers, let me know what you think!

most led's are a much lower resistance than normal bulbs, hence why when you change them it throws up your bulb out light and also no power to them.
all you need is a resistor to the same rating as your original sidelight bulbs and fit this in line (taking into account the resistance of the new led bulbs also)

eg. sidelight bulb rating 4ohm
led bulb 1ohm
therefore 3ohm resistor required

please note those resistance ratings will be completely out ive just used random numbers for ease of explanation (sp?)

note if fitting resitors inline it must be done ATLEAST 10cm from any other connection along the wiring for the bulbs in order to keep the resistance down and also best to solder again in order to keep resistance down-once you do this you shouldnt have any problems

Which ones best match OEM Xenons that dont throw a fault code? I would have a set if they matched colour wise, are a straight fit (dont require resistors) and of course if the price is right.

And what about the dipped beams. Any sexy bulbs around for them for the non xenon guys?

Have them fitted to my FR for the last 3months, but you need to "load" the two electrical circuits otherwise they will not work and the ecu system will flag a bulb failure! - there are many threads on this topic. ...............
