Hi all, my problem is that the small bracket that holds the drop link bar has snapped off the NSF strut! I was going to weld it back on but have been told i might damage the oil or seals inside. Has anyone else had this problem, what did you/they do? Would KW be able to repair the shock for me? To be honest they don't look that old either, still pretty clean, all the stickers are nice and white and still clearly visable.
The cars a MK1 LCR if anyone needs to know.

Thanks for any help, ben.

I wouldn't weld this back on as TIG is VERY hot.
These will be made seperately then assembled.
Are these Stainless Steel (Inox line) or carbon steel?

Have you call KW about this?

Are you the original owner/buyer of these?

I was gonna use a MIG though, what are the made from? sorry to sound dumb i only had a quick look as i was pissed off it had happend. I could understand if they were cheap ebay jobbies but i always thought KW was up the with the best of them for these cars?

it's still nice and shiny black paint, but now i've looked at the other side that one is not quiet welded all the way down, there a slight gap at the bottom.

So its the carbon steel ones you have so MIG should be okay
You will need to remove these to do this but best off speaking to KW first about it

Let us know how you get on.
I have second hand KW V3 Inox line coilovers so will be hoping for a good responce from KW
See if you can get the serial numbers off these before speaking to them as this will help with tracing the exact ones and perhaps how old they are for warrenty

ok i'll put a post up after i call them, where would the serial number be? i've got a picture of the sticker with the make and part number on, there's also somethin else on it but you can't quiet see it because it's inside the sleeve/knuckle if that makes sense.

Ok here's what happened for anyone that wanted to know. I ended up getting a friend to repair the shock at demon tweeks, however today he rang me to say a KW suspension rep had been in so he told them what had happened and they said if i get the part number off the shock they will check where and when it was sold and if it's under 2 years old they will replace the shock for nothing no questions asked!. Also said it doesn't matter if i bought the shocks or have the reciept as the check he does will confirm how old they are.
Pretty good of them i thought really, so if it happens to any of you, now you know!
