KO3S or KO3??

I've got a turbo that was sold to me as a KO3S but upon inspection the of the code, it looks like it came off of a 150bhp car of some sort!!! Giving the impression that it is only a KO3.

The code of my ibiza turbo(KO3) is 06A 145 703A

The New turbo code is 06A 145 704S

Does anyone know if this new turbo is any different to the one i've already got and will it be an improvement??

If its the one you bought off Wilko then its a K03sport - he had it on his AUM car.
AUM (150bhp) share the same K03s turbo as AUQ (180bhp) engines.

if the new one has a turbo inlet pipe on take it off,if its a k03s it should have 8 blades,k03 has 12.

it should have a little id tag on it,blue i think(where it says 06a ect) it should also have k03 followed by 052 or 053 to be a k03s

exactly, Already spoke to baz and sorted it out but for those who dont know diffs are:

8 blades opposed to 12 on tip,
Tip is 2ml bigger than K04
Compressor housing is 39.5ml opposed to 37ml
K03s Turbos have 0052/0053 in the serial number and they usually are 704D/704S/704T
Larger main vein and larger contiunation

thats pretty much all u can tell externally

All sorted, the turbo's now down at STAR waiting to get fitted and mapped hopefully get it back sat/sun all being well, can't wait!!

How much would one of those K03S turbos cost ? and are they easy to fit ? onto a mk3 ibiza cupra?

nearly a direct replacement, just need a bigger intake pipe. Usually cost £150 upwards.
