im looking at buying a blown ko3s and send it off to be rebuilt with ko4 internals. so should put out about 260 bhp. will the current maf i have need replacing or should it be ok upto 260bhp. also what is the limit on the injectors i have? ive spoke to revo and i can run the hybrid on my stage two map just turning setting down a slight bit.

where would the best place be for the turbo to be sent for the hybrid process, turbodynamics owen aet?
your thoughs and comments welcome

Been having a look at some american sites with the exchange rate being strong atm this could be a cheaper option.

Looking for a k03s housing (milled out?) with k04 turbine (clipped?) or something along those lines.

That what you were thinking gazjones or something different?

Looked in a few UK places aswell.

AET page but no info on any turbos or prices so need to call- http://www.aetturbosonline.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/98_101

Obviously these guys could do it but again need to call for specs and prices- http://www.turbodynamics.co.uk/index.html

Now to the US these guys had good feedback from some forums and can do what we want but not sure 100% on price and actual specs- http://www.gpopshop.com/index.html

I also found these posts on other forums about the hybrid k03s but on other vags like s4 etc. Some good info that could be helpful and with pics!

E05 was early development and unreliable from what I have read and heard so this would be different as their is now a wealth of knowledge about what can be done and with the latter made turbos although they go by the same specs etc they have been slightly changed by Borg Warner to give better reliability amongst other things.

Thats from the US site yeah?

This is where it becomes difficult as it seems some places dont believe in such a thing as k03s.

I have a mk3 ibiza cupra with normal k03 turbo. I dont know the physical differences between k03 and k03s with regards to internal housing and turbine size etc so need to know this really.

We need some of the SCN knowledge now to help figure this bit out!

Kind of but I was under the impression that the k04-001 was not v.reliable aswell and that better gains could be had from a k03s hybrid which is different but I may be wrong.

all i know is k03s has 8 fins on the turbine, k03 has 12 fins! cant you just give them the turbo code? they may have the same turbo, but have a different name for it?

Exactly what I want k03s housing but with k04 internals so should hopefully have 240bhp minimum real power from a simple turbo change that has not cost more than £400 really without mapping. Heres hoping!

im hoping for around 260 bhp from same sort of setup using my existing stage two map. the second audi link is so confusing as they are going on about the twin turbo ko3's that mount different to 1.8t transvers ko3's and 3s's
