ko3s find?

a mate of mine has a mk4 golf gti t, he asked me round earlier to helf him remove sai, egr, carbon cannister and aircon. it's off the road at the mo because he blew the gearbox. while he was waiting for a new box he decided on a gt28rs upgrade with mani, dp and fmic.

anyway after i'd done the few bits i noticed it was a aum, so i asked him what he did with the old turbo as it only has 50k on the clock. 'it's in the boot, the bloke i bought it off blew up the old one and had a new one fitted just before i bought it.'he said. well this was under 8k ago so i had a browse, took the elbow off and this is what it looked like...

am i right in thinkink this is a Ko3s?

Yeah AUM came with KO3s but its weird because that only has 5 blades, I thought the KO3s had 6?

doesn't the k03 have 12 and the s have 8? so what has 10? the golf went really well with it on.

not sure i just had a quick sneek while it was in his boot, i'll be there again during the week soldering some resistors in. where do i find the part number?

on the piceture 2blades wery close 5 times then 10 blades.this is my ko4-oo1 turbo looks alot like ko3s turbo

i don't recall seeing the plate, the manifold looked identical to mine, it didn't have the silencer but it had 1 pipe connection on the actuator.

K04-001
Direct bolt on to transverse motors using OE exhaust manifold and oil/coolant lines. Might be good for those k03 (not k03s) owners if you just need something easy to bolt up. SO THIS MEANS DIRECT BOLT ON Golf/GTI/Jetta/Beetle Will work for K03 and K03s but will yield little gains on the k03s. Would be good for those with a dying k03/k03s and don't want BT.

i've got an 80k ko3, so would it be worth getting as it's not even done 10k?

whats it worth if i were to make an offer?

just get the number off of the plate and dont buy it just yet.

Depends what you want out of it? I have a ko3s that i'm sending off to be a hybrid,should be good for 270ish bhp

he said he had the receipt from when it was changed ( i'd have expected the original to last more than 40k tho) he wasn't trying to sell it to me was just saying so i can't see why he'd lie? does look filth though but has probably been on there a year and a half or more.
