Ok so just when i thought the car was back upto scratch after im pretty sure the soapy water trick has stopped my clutch from slipping, Ive got a knocking sound coming from what seems to be around the handbrake/gearstick area, Strange thing is tho its only doing it when i corner fairly hard to the left wondering if anybody has any ideas of what it could be or what i could check. Last week when i was cleaning the inside of the car i found what looks like an 8mm nut down by the passenger seat ive had quite a good search and cant find where it has come from maybe this could be the cause of the knocking?? When ive recoverd from my hangover and its stopped raining ill get a pic up of it.

possible that an exhaust mount has dropped, and the exhaust is catching on the shell

I think the 8mm nut in the car might well not be related though

Had this on mine, i'd get under there and look at the exhaust bracket. Give the exhaust a shake and i'm sure you'll see where its knocking. Easy fix :)

Still havent managed to get out under the car with this crappy weather, Glad to hear it should be a relatively easy fix.

I had the same issue...just took it to kwik fit and had it up on a ramp as it was raining like today -

although mid week i reversed in to bay and the exhurst hit the curb - cracked the centre pipe - dealer asked for £150 for a new one - i went for the welding option - job done!
