Hi all,

I have a Leon 20v SE and appear to have gained a knocking noise from the front drivers side door compartment.

The window is opening and closing ok but I seem to be getting a knocking noise when going over bumps etc.It seems that something has/ is loose within the door compartment. The knocking is there when the window is open or closed. Occasionly the noise seems to be moving within the door compartment.

Any help would be appreciated as its driving me nuts!!

Also, just found a leak in my rear footwell which a well known Leon problem.

Cheers,

Ed

Just pop the door card off and have a look mate, expect its just a broken clip or something rattling about in bottom of door, 5 min job to pop it off :)

If you don't find anything when you take the door cards off try greasing the hinges on the door, had a knocking noise from my front passenger door for a year, had the suspension checked, door card off but couldn't find it. tried greasing it at as last attempt and its completely gone.

Make sure you grease the hinge at the top and the bars at the bottom which the door stops on as you open it.

Noise problem solved

After months of putting up with the annoying metal noise coming from my front passenger door I have finally cured the problem. Removed the door card, checked everything was secure, the dreaded window clips etc was all ok. So I removed all the old grease from the hinges and re-applied some finish line stuff i use on my mtb, cool stuff as it has teflon in it. Noise is now completly gone. Happy days. Thanks to SCN once again.

Yeah sparkie give it a go. The metallic clunking noise use to happen when accelerating or breaking. I was convinced it was coming from inside the door. Thankfully it was a quick fix.
