It sounds as though the engine builders are exercising whats known in law as a "lien" over the engines as a result of unpaid bills for work on them on behalf of the previous owners BTC.
Although the engines have been bought by Maxtreme now, it's almost like the engines having outstanding HP on them and therefore ORECA are legally allowed to hold on to them pending resolution of their payment dispute with BTC. Remember the old saying "possession is 9/10ths of the law, well it does have a real basis behind it both in legal and practical terms".

Thats very harsh on Liam as an innocent party but if both ORECA and BTC feel they are in the right over their dispute the engines won't be heading anywhere soon unless a Court takes a different view. Maxtreme will have no choice but to do what they can to pressure both sides towards a resolution of that dispute.

Such a shame, although Liam will clearly not spend time at the front of the pack this season, he clearly has potential.
As a small team, Maxtreme really don't need this kind of bullsh*t!
It just just goes to show that Motor Racing is as cut-throat business, and Liam is the innocent party, but is still being punished.
Lets just hope ORECA will do the "decent" thing.
