Hi.

Had my TDi FR since November from New. This weekend the battery has gone in the remote! is this usual for the battery to only last 4 months!

We have had the Astra Convertable for nearly 16 months and use the fob to do the roof, and thats still going strong.

Until I can get them to replace it (presumably I have a good case for them to do it for free, as 4 months is a bit unacceptable) what is the best way for me to open the boot?

I open the car with the key in the lock (right turn) this only seems to open the drivers door even though the manual states it will open all of them. I then open all with the unlock button on the door, but when I open the boot the alarm goes off and I have to put the key in the ignition - what a royal pain in the wotsit!.

I opened the car door with the key, then opened the boot and the alarm went off. If I just open the boot the alarm goes off.

Last night I pulled the key apart to check which battery it was and now its working !?!?!?

I have ordered some spares, but looks like it might be a faulty key maybe.

I had same problem with my Leon FR, keyfob battery kept going I think it is a fault with some of seats keys, took mine back and got new one under warranty, you can unlock with key then put in ignition within 15-20 secs then press door unlock button that should unlock boot

The keyfob seems to work when you switch the battery, which I did on Wednesday this week - however twice today, its failed to work. So I think I have a dodgy keyfob!

Will give that a go tonight - two problems again with it today with a two day old battery in it....bugger. I now have 4 niggles, but none of them serious enough to take the 30 mile trip to Sheffield

Keyfob knackered, window seal sticking out, speaking brakes after 8000miles, and one of my 17" LCR alloys has an almight graze on the inside where the nuts go (deffo not a kerb :))

if you are having problems with battery and connector you can out two batteries in say an old one and a new one on top of each other
