Key randomly won't go into ignition

Hi All,

Having a random issue over the past couple days with my FR TDI, whereas the key won't always go into the ignition (steering wheel usually locked). I end up having to wiggle the steering wheel and force the key until it eventually goes in.

Started at the weekend. Happened again about 30mins ago... took me that long to get the key into the ignition!

Once it's in, steering unlocks and key turns ok.

Is this a known fault?

Naa i'm pretty sure its fine mate. Every car I've ever had has been like that. Instead of wiggling try just moving the steering wheel to one way and inserting the key fully then letting go. As soon as your key goes in you should feel it unlock.

I sometimes found this when I've left the steering wheel well left or right. Not sure I've had this issue in the Leon though. I leave mine straight at home/work and only ever leave it on full lock if I know it's going to be a tight squeeze getting out. Try leaving it with straight wheels and see if it still does it. I dunno?

Problem appears to have disappeared, not been able to replicate it since!
