Key Question

Hi All,

Yet again advice is sought from the combined experience of this forum.

My key fob, while still working, is showing signs of loss of battery power, often the remote doesn't work, and then sometimes it does. Range is also reducing.

So dying battery in the fobs seems the likely cause - and considering the battery is 5 years old, and is more likely 7 years old (age of the car) its done a fair innings.

Reading the SEAT user book blurb it suggests that changing the battery requires resynchronisation with the car/immobiliser. Please can anyone advise if this is the case.

Also does anyone have any advice on prying open the fob, ie where to go in, is there anything I should be ultra careful with? Also what sort of battery does the key fob take?

Yours gratefully

VB21.

I would just pop it open and have a look at what battery you need. don't think you need to recode anything. To open depends on what fob you have but normally a small flat head screw driver will do the job. Any VAG dealership will know/stock the battery you need.
