Key Fob Not Working.... HELP!!!

Right my key stopped working and its done this before so i took it apart and made sure the battery was in ok and it started working again for a day or so and then stopped.

Thought it must be the battery that has gone flat so i went out and brought a new battery. Fitted it and the little red light on the key is now flashing fine but the car wont open or lock.

Opened the car manually and sat in it and tried locking and unlocking and it would work once out of about twenty times.

Im wondering if this means my key is ****ed or maybe it just needs reprograming or is there something ive not done since fitting the new battery?

Try reprogramming the key to the car section 2.36 in the handbook, i did mine a few days ago, took me two goes mind you, but the car beeps at you when its successful (you need two keys for your car to do this by the way)

Check the circuit boards in the keyfob.

Have checked the circut boards and all looks fine there.

Its just strange how it will work then press it again nothing... press it another 10 times and nothing then all of a sudden it will work.

I can't answer why your fob doesn't work but I had to replace my old fob cos it would only work if I pressed it while holding it against the front door windows.

Anyhow, bought a brand new 2 button fob from ebay for £25 inc p&p. Bought a new blade and got my local key cutting place to cut it for £10, reprogrammed it with the manual instructions......end result is a fob that works perfectly
