Key fob doesnt unlock doors (only locks)

The central locking has recently started playing up on my 57 Seat Leon 2.0 TDI and now only seems to lock the doors with the key fob. Nothing happens at all when I press the unlock button.

All the doors lock and unlock fine when I press the button on the center console (once Ive put the key in the ignition). The alarm also works fine (everytime I forget to put the key in the ignition straight after unlocking the doors :()

Has anyone any experience or advice regarding this?

Thanks in advance!

Mate don't want to sound like i'm giving you a ridiculously obvious answer or anything but the exact same thing happened to me a while ago and it was the battery, it seems it had enough power to lock but not unlock. Anyway i changed the battery and everything was fine.

Again apologies if you've tried this first or whatever but just wanted to advise this is what fixed it for me.

Thanks

Oh my god that's actually worked haha. Can't believe it was something that simple.

A bit bizarre that though how it does one but not the other.

Oh well cheers mate that's saved me loads of hassle. I've been leaving my car unlocked all the time cos I was getting sick of messing about opening the doors for the kids.

Just goes to show you should always try to rule out the obvious first.

Cheers again.

Brilliant! So glad it worked for you.

Wonder how many people get rinsed at main dealers for simple stuff like though....

Cheers

Bumping an old thread here but this has started to happen on my FR yesterday.

Fob will lock the car fine but won't unlock it.

I've changed the battery in the fob and it hasn't made a difference however, the red led doesnt light up on the fob when pressing the unlock button and does when you lock it?

I'm going to scan it when I get home, but wondering if anyone had any ideas?

Update - scanned the car, no fault with the lock module thankfully and no fault codes relating to the issues.

Took the key apart again and fiddled with the little control board, put it back together and its working again :)
