We bought our Formentor on Feb. 2024. These days I already got a warning message "please replace key fob battery" or something like that.
I've just being doing it. The original CR2032 battery voltage was already down to 2.96V. Quite surprising when I compare to the voltage of a 5 or 6 spare battery set I've at home. All are around 3.26-3.29V though expiry dates are between 2016 and 2020...
Strange... Neverminds, problem solved!
If you ask yourself how to open the key fob, it's on page #92 of the User's manual (at least for the French version) and it's similar to many other recent VAG key fobs.
Otherwise, YouTube is your friend:
This videao actually shows 2 mthods. The first one, using the emergency key blade as a lever to pop out the cover from the inside is the one described in the User's manual, whereas the second one, just pulling the cover with finger nails seems risky over time... Little tabs on the cover may break more easily...
