Just been to two garages regarding the middle silencer removal and both said that if they had a car in for mot they would fail it for being over the manufacturer sounds levels so they didn't want to do it...

I live in a little town with about 6 garages some how lol do I need to find someone that doesn't do mots...

This would bugger any 3rd party exhaust specialist me thinks. Iirc as long as its not major loud you will be alright. I've had an MX5 with a non OEM exhaust go through an mot alright.

I was under the impression it should be ok unless they have another car the same as yours to be able to compare noise I could be wrong, but if this is the case like babyface said all 3rd party exhaust specialist would be screwed, also when I took mine in being a long life dealer I checked with them and said there would be no problems as your cat is left untouched so no emission levels to worry about. Also I can guarentee my car is no where near as loud as some of the spotty 18yr olds wishing round in novas, fiestas and the like

Just got this done today... finally!

£60 all in, really happy with the results, sounds nice between 2500-5000rpm then quite a deep tone when the engine is under a little pressure...

Recommend it :)

Don't suppose you have a Vid of the car driving off/boosting? I'm contemplating getting this done on the FR as i will be getting a local exhaust place to replace my backbox due to an annoying rattle (baffle related) in the next month or so...

Don't mind a sportier note but really don't want a loud exhaust

I don't like loud exhausts myself, I find this to just be a deeper note with a nice rasp when changing gears in the 3000-3500rpm range...

I'm not sure I have the roads round here to do a video take of me giving it the beans off the mark lol

Like Jimbob Cook, I'm just looking for a nicer sound... How have people found this on a day to day basis (ie not sitting up around the mid/high rpm).GREAT vid Craig BTW!!!
Cheers

I've had it for a few months now and I'm happy with the sound increase inside the car on day to day basis, it's not too loud but it has a definite increase...

Where abouts are you based? Maybe someone on here is nearby that has had it done? My phone doesn't let me know this vital info lol

Thanks, Jimbob, I'm based in Medway. Was very happy to see that a few guys had it done in Maidstone for £50 =D very happy haha so think it'll have to be on the list!

Also the only way this will affect warrenty is like if the exhaust falls off right?? Haha stupid I know

If you've just got the car from a garage like I did I found out that the warranty didn't cover the exhaust or brakes etc... Not sure what you have obviously lol

Jimbob, that sounds really good but have a quick question, does the sound of the exhaust overpower the sound of the turbo woosh when you're driving/putting the food down?

You can still hear the turbo just fine from where I'm sitting...
