K04 Manifold

Since completing my k04 conversion my manifold has cracked after around 800 miles and it's also blown the gasket to bits =-/ I've been looking for aftermarket manifolds but with little joy , theirs a few choices for the k03 etc but not the k04-023 ...... I've just had a quick look on eBay and found the following manifold my only worry is that it looks a bit "tacky" so I was looking for peoples opinions before I go any further

that's the gasket after 800 miles i wondered why it had started to blow :-/ so anyone got any input good or bad =-)

Good luck if you go for one of those manifolds. Their quality control is crap. A customer supplied one for me to fit and the exhaust flange had 5mm gap from end to end where its wasnt flat.

If you can get it to fit and last then go for it. If you want a good quality one then spend extra and get the TSR version or wait until the JBS one comes out (its been over 2 years wait so far).

do jbs have a price in mind yet then, the thing ive learned with these cars is buy cheap
you end up buying twice if its only 4-6 week wait than atleast its going to be a tried and tested route

I got told around £450 mate same as the K03 manifold

welly ran the XS/Relentless one pictured above..
agree with Alex, their quality control is abysmal... and erratic. Welly also had another couple of manifolds sent to him which had the flange warp described..

when he did get one which was flat, and fitted it to his hybrid, it did match the hi-flow gains of the doomed 034 cast mani, but survived his use, unlike the 034. 5k miles on it before he got bored with the k04 setup and went IHI, it came off intact, no cracks. (which surprised us all)

Its good to know it actually lasted to his abuse. I never thought it would last 5 mins.

It just need to be an easier install then I think more people would fit them.

its a pretty hatefull thing to fit..
expectations were pretty low after the 034 issues, but it only +vely surprised everyone how it survived.

Would it be a simple task to do or is it a tight squeeze and would it match up with the turbo ok like the oil lines etc??? I'm in 2 minds or to just wait for the jbs mani
