fecking hell Bill, thats an awesome amount of air flow. how did it feel compared to an entry level IHI.

The later AMK engines certainly did have the egt turbo sensor. Its reduces the injector duty cycle when the sensor reads over 950 degrees. This is to protect mani and turbo from over heating.

I know I thought I was doing well getting 242, lol, I'm running 26 spike and holding 18-19 psi

it was pretty pokey, not IHI pokey as IHI VF34 is more sustained top end, but for what its in (mk2 ibiza) its light weight, it shoe of torque will make for a ncie road car... BUT, the EGT's on these hybrids is a concern to me, as they 'bottle' up the flow/heat very quickly when on it.

eg. blast logging 2nd.3rd,4th gear run and EGT's are into 800's then repeat immediately they are into 900'C (post turbine on turbo outlet/downpipe) - 25psi peak-22psi sustained

compare that to a good flowing setup like in my ibiza, GT35, 35psi boost sustained I see 825'C max (without my water/meth running)

Hybrid runing 1.7bar peak and 1.5bar sustained in Rolys example. Also running a decat and new 3" downpipe I made for it.

Johnathan thats awesome mate, get it on the dyno. Mucho respect.;)
mine is pegged at 1.4bar @ red line as i'm in fear for my rods and clutch. The problem is for me to prevent the early spool spike my mbc limits boost at red line. Its like chicken or egg.

Egt's worry me also on my set up, 900 reguarly:(.
Do you think a decent high flowing mani will reduce egts noticeably.

Bill, out of interest i have 2 questions (apologies to the OP but it may be of help)

What EGT's would you expect to see on my golf setup, ie stock k04-023 running at pretty much its max safe(ish) boost? I've actually plugged my EGT sensor position with a threaded high temp bolt so if you reckon it's going to get a bit on the hot side i could get an EGT sensor and gauge thrown in there to keep an eye on things no bother. Im aware that my engine doesnt have the capability to react to EGT's like the AMK and BAM do.

Also, what would you expect to see in terms of airflow figures?

K04-023 I have mapped which did 25psi spike and 20psi sustained logged 228g/s on an ibiza

EGT's pre-turbine will be in the 900'C region I am sure... which is on the edge I think of where you want to be.. certainly no hotter.

only one way to find out tho of course

thanks bill much appreciated

on another note, do you recommend i chuck on a powerflex dogbone mount now that i'm k04'd? I've already got powerflex on all other bushes.

sorry OP for the thread hijack, proper k04 info should be kept within k04 searches :)
