K03s Question

I love the loud Peddle
Hi,

Are any of you K03s owners running without a FMIC, if so what is it like?

Do you get alot of heatsoak?
does the power tail off sharply at the top end?

I know that if I do go down the K03s route I will need to get a FMIC eventually but it is quite expensive and I would rather get turbo, map, downpipe and tip get it running and then add the fmic. I have a Milltek cat back Forge 007p and dynatwist.

Any info would be great.

Thanks

HoocH, when you have fitted the K03S's have you had the car's re-mapped ASAP or not? Also did you bother to fit a 4 Bar FPR straight away? How long did it take you to fit the Turbo and any tips??

If I was to fit the turbo it'd be a week or two before I could get it re-mapped, and even then I'd have to drive down to Jabba.

you could do the arch liner mod until you can afford a fmic.

I've been running unmapped for 6months now. 4bar needs to be fitted at time of mapping.

I've already got the K03S + 4FPR but not fitted, I was going to fit the turbo, leave it unmapped for a week or two and then when I get it mapped fit the 4FPR just wondered if that'd be fine and I'm not going to wreck the car driving down?

From the looks of things the turbo's have no other lines that differ, the only one been the vacuum line at the actuator.

I would say no. The K03s will flow a lot more air, and the injectors will be working damned hard.

low boost, not much revs might be 'ok' but not a long term

Water spray makes bugger all difference, it helps but it's a bigger intercooler and aquamist that'll bring the car out.

Going to fit my K03S and just drive the car off boost till I can get to JABBA the week later!!`

K03s is amazing, had a 4bar on yesterday with no FMIC, with REVO settings sat on 8 and 8......VAG COM showed it pulling back the timing of 2.4 (nothign really..) on one cylinder....I will be going for a FMIC, but not yet, first thing is to order a 4Bar... but even driving with a 3 Bar, changing around 3.5K....its amazing... Like Hooch said, I haven't stopped smiling yet!

Took a few people out yesterday at the Fairmile meet, got VERY positive responses... what was the word they used...ROCKET.....or something like that...
The drive home was awesome... CTR's, M3's, TT's....WRX...Incredible!!

Cheers Hooch... ;)

I really dont see the point in ko3s when people dont have a fmic.

in 4th and 5th the temps will be sky high and the eccu will just cut back on power making the ko3s act like a ko3 with no pull top end.

imho its best to get the supporting mods in place before you start adding a different turbo, downpipe etc
