As per title, is there an easy way to know which version of the turbo is on the car, (an LC), preferably without having to dismantle anything?. Is there a set date when they swapped over to K03s turbos on LCs? or an engine number ?

Is there any point taking off the engine cover to look at the turbo visually? is there a model no on the turbo itself?

Anyone have any idea?

Does your Leon have an AUQ engine (K03s) of an APP engine (K03)?
Numbers on top of the right side of the cil head next to the engine cover

Registered 07/2006. It's an AUQ engine so I guess that means it has a K03s.

Big Lad,

Apparently the difference is in the bore diameter of one of the turbines, (can't remember if its the inlet or exhaust side), the K03 has the same diameter on both sides the K03s has a larger bore diameter on one side. I might be wrong but i think the larger side is the same diameter as the K04 - only the K04 is the same diameter on both turbines.
