K&N filter for 1.4 75ps, is it worth it?

I'm wondering whether to purchase a K&N filter for my 1.4. Now I'm not expecting any performance gains (my car has no modifications) but I thought it might be worth it just to save on future filter costs.

My car is shortly due it's 30k mile service and I wondered whether to get a K&N before then. I don't know how much an ordinary filter is so how long it would take for the K&N to save me money though.

What do you guys think? Is it worth it? What's the best price for a K&N filter for this car, I've seen one about £46+ P+P

Cheers for any suggestions.

If your filter is due to be changed then you might as well get a K&N or Green filter rather than a std one. You might notice a quicker throttle responce with the K&N if your current one is clogged up...
