Hi, i'm looking at getting a dvd HU for my Leon and have seen this JVC one. Tried searching for reviews etc but not come up with anything. Basically just want to know if anyone has this HU and what's it like.

From the specs it looks decent, i know the avx33 is available as well, but for the extra £100 or so, i don't think i'd use the usb or bluetooth that often. Will the avx11 play mp3's from a dvd as thats what i'm mainly after from this HU. So i can have a few dvd's of music instead of loads of cd's, also will this play normal dvd films ok?

Also where there any problems fitting it? i know some require these sort of units to be wired to handbrake. Think thats it, so any opions and advice would be great, cheers. :)

Just fitted this HU in the LC, works great,

QUESTION is;

Can the handbrake cable be by-passed so that the DVD plays when the car is moving? would I need to wire the handbrake cable to a + or - charge cable? So that the HU thinks the handbrake is on?

Cheers

I think it can be bypassed.

My mate has the Hallfords Ripspeed branded version one & he wired his up to a permanent Negative & it plays DVD's while on the move.

Can be very distracting at the Traffic Lights though :lol::lol:

Finished the HU install last night and wired the handbrake cable to the back - connection of the stereo. The HU is mint and works really well. Didn't have any issues fitting it and sound quality is great.

Cool sounds good, gonna order mine next week. Did you connect it to a permanent negative or something else?

Ordered my headunit, going to get the fascia from work as i get a discount. Would i need an ariel adaptor and if so, could someone show me which one please. Is the anything i need to know about fitting an aftermarket headunit in the Leon, i've got an ISO adaptor for it, i don't need to go cutting or changing anything do i?

sorry to bring up an old thread.
just wondering how you have got on with your jvc avx11?
i have had an avx1 for the past 3 or so years and it gave up the other day think i shorted it out or somthing as i was fitting guages a cable broke and shorted out blowing a fuse changed the fuse but all it wanted to do was give my disc back even after i replaced the harness.

been looking at the latest avx11 have been considering it as it plays dvds which i use for having massive ammounts of music on so i dont carry loads of dics about.
just want to make sure its not going to give up after a couple of years.

anyone know it there any good before i go buying it?
