Just purchased Altea FR!

Haven't been this excited since I got my hands on a 1990 Cindy Crawford calendar from Woolworths at 13 years old (oops giving away my age a bit)

Anyways:

18" alloys
Winter pack
Bluetooth
Electric sunroof

The purchase was in no small part due to SCN and all the great info on it. Thanks to this site and its excellent posters I go into the deal fully aware of potential DPF probs, the lack of tuning potential for the 170TDI and why I might get rumbling noise from the tyres after a few thousand miles! I am prepared!!!

No discount on the wheels- got dragged over the coals for them, but somethings you just have to have .

£2300 off list price through the Deal Negotiator.

Really wanted to buy locally but my local Dealer (Dales Scorrier who incidentally are fantastic) couldn't get close on price

Hi bakedanenome, I agree what ever float your boat, I missed a set of them on e-bay last week, I had to go to work just as the item finished, I bid up to £400 and they went for £411 gutted.

Got a set of the other bbs wheels the five spoke with a twist in for £560 and £200 for tyre's,

Sounds like a good price you got on the 5 spokes (my wife nearly had a hernia when I told her what the Seat sourced ones cost- she doesn't understand ). Would love to see some pics when you get them fitted!

How do you find the ride on the 18s Phill? Feel much different to the original TDI Sport wheels?

I thought the Horsham Sidlow was a VW dealer. They did a super deal on a Beetle V5 for my son ([email protected]). The Seat place is Gatwick and they couldn't come up with a good enough deal for me on a second hand Altea.
Dan may still be worth a go. He does try hard.

Think you're right- mine was a telephone order which go through Horsham. Like you say the Seat branch is over Horley way. Didn't have any dealings with them so can't comment. Good luck to all the deal hunters

Can I ask you, do you think that at idle the engine is simply the noisiest diesel for a long time? Or is there something wrong with mine ?
