I have been toying with anumber of ideas as to what to spend on my car to "do-it-up". From the usual Revo-ing through to strut braces, suspension upagrades etc etc. The cost soon started to mount up.

I worked it out I could easily spend £1-2000 doing the "standard" mods, but alas my garden and house come first (the wife says so).

It got me thinking. What's the most anyone has spent of their car to "do-it-up" as a whole, has anyone ever spent more than the car's worth on mods?

Just keeping it to Seats

The IHI guys must have spent a fair packet on their cars... As to who's spent the most, you'd best ask Bill. ;)

Easily

helps when the starting point was £700 & you know it's crap :)

Would have thought it will be more than a few times the initial purchase price by the end of it.

Simple answer yes...

I brought the Leon as round where i live Ford is common place along with Golfs and Civics... so i wanted a unstated car... Leon was the best base...

After a few tweaks here and there, ok a fair amount money too, and i got a car that all the Ford, Golf and Civic boys stare at as it drives by...

and my personal opinion of it is, the Leon is the most unstated car in the VAG group and with a little bit of money and time is an awesome car.

I mean even my missus loves the Leon and i tell you she dont like many cars... lol

Also in a year i guess, the mods will exceed the car price due to engine mods...270bhp, 490lbs/torque here i come....;)

Thanks very much mate... if you come down to Donny south show you should see it, maybe even on the track...

I like to mod the Leon with a idea of, does it look like OEM + part... if it dont look like a optional extra part, i dont fit it... needs to be a sleeper, dont need chavs staring at it... only people with respect and taste in modding.
Hence i recently got the chrome wing mirrors black chromed so avoid CHAV attention. lol

I can fully appreciate the "wolf in sheeps clothing" tactics. Mine's the same - alloy pedal covers, centre armrest, Seat floor mats. Understated!

In all honesty I'd say it's the best job I've seen. Well done. Donny South show? I'll have a lookie...

nice, how much was the centre arm reat mate?

Big question that to answer...

depends on....

Weather you want the OEM part or the Fake lookalikey, or the Golf one

then you gotta know if you want the leather or the cloth one..

So the arm rest can cost from £60 Fake golf copy to about £160 for the leather OEM part....

I got my OEM cloth one for £115....

Thank you, very good to see people still like the subtle look modding, sleep style as they say....Especially when it comes from a LCR owner too, as i personal love the LCR looks, but on my car i could go down the route of R bumpers as thats just not right in my mind as its not an R, although saying that i do have a plan to mod a FR bumper into a new look for my car even more aggressive looking from the front...

As i said earlier for all those that can attend the Donny South Show 13th of august, should come and have a look see.... looks better in the flesh i personal think.....
