Hello there, get some pics up :)

Good car - I have one too.

The remap, go for Revo, Custom Code, Angel Tuning or Upsolute, or a Custom one.

Dump valves are more for noise and personally I hate them on diesels, sounds silly!

chug chug whoosh!

hello and welcome to the ibiza section  nice to see you keeping in the seat family :seatgod:

with the tdi 130 a dumpvalve will simply give NO power gains or any benifits its simply for sound IIRC!

but with reguards to reaching 180bhp its no exspensive a remap with

custom-code or revo and a green pannel filter replacement and the bigger cupra airbox intake you should see 180bhp got any pics of the beast?

not sure of the going rate on the standard remap but im guessing youl be parting with £400

you'll want a fmic to see a true 180bhp IMO, then your clutch will probably slip so adda£850 for an uprated on, then £300 for 312mm TT brakes and coilovers/spacers/arb's to match

Welcome btw...

Hi! another sport owner :D I would recommend not jumping in at the deep end with it and spread the mods out over a year. I got a full exhaust first, panel filter and pd160 intake 2nd, then a fmic then finally a remap and clutch. You wont get as bored quickly this was as each mod has its own charms that you'll like for a while :p I got 179.95 bhp with these mods and 290lbft torque :funk: using custom code remap. Now it eats cupras for breakfast :laser: (well standard ones any way)

thanks for the reply's....

im looking at getting it re-mapped first, as one of you said do that last, i want it to beat this guys starlet gt turbo running around 140bhp hes one of these muppets who trys racing anything and everything so just wanna take the smile of his face lol

as far as re-mapping goes could i just re-map the car and then say get a clutch in a months time ? as it xmas soon and im a little tight for cash.

also how much is a re-map iv been quoted different prices from 149.99 to 280.00 ?

took it out last nite give it some welly to see what it goes like hit 125mph on 4500 revs tha the norm?

So you wanna spend ~£3-400 on a re-map, plus all the other bits you should really upgrade FIRST (like the clutch that transmits all that new power to the wheels)........so you can race "one of these muppets who trys racing anything and everything"?

Pot? Kettle??

70 in mine is ~1750rpm so that equates to an estimated 3125rpm @ 125mph. Are you sticking it in 6th??

It's easy enough to calculate. Get to 70 (or whatever) in 5th. Note your rpm.
Divide that RPM by the speed, so RPM/70 for this example. Then multiply the result by the speed you would like to know the rpm for.

Using your original example:

4500rpm/125mph=36rpm/mph.

If you want to know how many rpm you will be doing at 70 in the same gear, just do 36*70=2520rpm.
Looks like you have got your figures wrong, because 70 in 5th should be about 2000rpm. If I use your "mite of been 3500rpm" comment, then it comes out to 1960rpm which sounds more like it.

On a perhaps more important note, where are you doing 125mph and still running out of road before getting into 6th gear?? You shouldn't be doing this anywhere except for a test track but from the sound of it you must be doing it on a country road/A road/dual carriageway? :-o
Let me know where you drive and I will do my best to stay clear.
Only last week some bloke in a boyed-up Clio crashed into a Focus pulling out of the end of my road. He admitted to doing at least 40 (so probably 50+) in a 30 zone. His girlfriend hit her head on the windscreen and shattered it. How nice for her........
Sorry, but doing those sorts of speeds on the public roads is just plain stupid. :(

i was doin 125 mph down a closed industrail road near to were i live, they hold car events and meets there very oftern.

i would not rish other lives by doin those speeds on a motoway or a road!

my mate died a week and a half ago he come offf his R6 into a wall! got his funeral on the 6th december :(

i got 176 bhp and 314 lb/ft of torque from just a re-map just have to be carefull when you floor it or your clutch won't last long on my standard clutch it didn't slip once but i think its all driver dependant

my arosa was the 1.0 s model 2003

my ibiza is like a formula one car compared to it lol, my ibiza throws u back in the seat and its still standerd, cant wait till i get it re-mapped in 2 weeks time :D

aslongs i drive tidy and not hammer it off the mark standerd clutch will be ok for a good few months tho yea?

sorry if i seem daft but befor i went into the seat world i was a vauxhall man lol

had loads of red tops latest one was a tigra red top, to be honest i think my ibiza is alot more powerfull as it is now than the 150bhp red top engines.

few of my mates have said there a company in newport that called Westteck? anyone delt wioth them befor ?
