Hi everyone.

Right 80% of people with ibizas have the jetex filter.....or there abouts, so i thought id do the same and trade in my £5 ebay filter for this £45 performance filter... it arrived today in less than 24hours ordered! great service,

so before fitting id thought id do some logs of before and after of air mass flow.

before with ebay filter

and the name of the thing you bought was an air ...... F I L T E R yea?

now compare actual filtration from a likely single layer cotton egay filter and the JR/Jetex one..

the cheapies are almost transparent they're so thin... so dont expect much in the way of filtration, but high airflow..
not a chance I would want less than filtered air getting into my motor and ruining it - you made a good choice.. almost as good as going Green Filters :p :)

It would be good one day maybe Bill to compare both makes of filter on a RR dyno.
Also whats your opinion on the dual cone design of air filters.

dual cone offers more surface area from same package size, so higher potential airflow. I use these on the BT conversions, as packaging size is always an issue unless you strip the heck out of the engine bay like my ibiza and add a 300mm giant cone filter in there. :D

RR Dyno's are not the be all and end all.. only a guide.. logs on the road are as good a guide, if you also account for test conditions. they will give an indication of flow, do some runs and avg them.. and compare.
