Hi,

So unfortunately my first post here is a question about a fault. Not what I was hoping for...

So I got my beeza yesterday, everything was fine, until this morning when I started up the windscreen wipers. The dirver's side got stuck halfway, juttered, then just stopped dead. Now it has no resistance, it travels freely when I move it by hand, the passenger side still works fine and i can't move it by hand.

I am pretty clueless, any idea what is wrong, or how major this could be?

I'm pretty miffed with the dealer as it passed its MOT on monday, and now this happens.:(

Apart from that my first impressions of the car are excellent.

if you just bought it, take it back and get them to fix it, esp if they just did a MOT on it ???

As said above return to dealer to get them to fix it.

Out of interest, is the passenger arm moving ok?

Yeah passenger arm is moving fine, and they both worked fine yesterday on the drive home from the dealer.

Cheers for the replies, that was my first instinct, I just don't want to wait for them to sort it. I was hoping there might have been a quick fix.

You could try removing the cover over the spindle, lining the wiper blade to where you want it and try nipping up the nut, worked on mine

This happened on mine but the garage sorted it for free. What it is is the arm that attaches the wiper to the motor has fallen off. Simple fix if you know how apparently. Ill have a look at lunch.

3 months warranty covers it. The dealer is sorting it for me tomorrow when i'm at work, which aint bad.

Prev: The dealer said that is what it would be and he has had it happen/fixed before.

Thanks again guys!

yeah happened to me not more than a month ago. pain in the jackson waiting for the part from the dealer

basically what has happened is the connecting arm from the motor to the wiper arm has worn and fallen off. its a ball joint fitment and unfortunately the connection is plastic and wears out over time until its not a snug fit and just keeps popping off.

take the scuttle panels away and you'll see what the problem is

new connecting arm cost around a tenner from the dealer and is a 5 minute job. the only issue is at the motor's spindle, where both connecting arms meet, you'll need to pop off the old ones to get the new one on.

but very easy and def a diy jobby
