Same miles and colour as mine was.

Paid £700 more than you though :(

But it did include Miltek Exhaust, Tints, Coilovers, Revo Re-Map + Controller, Forge Dump Valve, Dynatwist Air filter, Alloys, etc

So take that away i guess you got a decent deal!!!!

hiya i have just bought a 2001 silver ibiza cupra. it has 29,000 miles on it and i paid £6550 for it! is that bout the going rate for it?

had

I would say thats a good price

I did a little search for you and these are the results

If its a 2001 (X reg) early one for that year these are the results

http://www.parkers.co.uk/pricing/us...82&model=810&plate=65&pay=false&buyorsell=buy

If its 2001 (Y reg) in the middle (same as mine but mine is on 56,000 so the mileage you got is fantastic) these are the results

http://www.parkers.co.uk/pricing/us...82&model=810&plate=66&pay=false&buyorsell=buy

If its 2001 (51 reg) late one for that year these are the results

http://www.parkers.co.uk/pricing/us...82&model=810&plate=67&pay=false&buyorsell=buy

I would say you have got a good buy there as the average mileage is 40,000 so your much below that

Well yeah i suppose its worth putting it up for more and its the sort of car that people will pay that bit extra...more so if its a good one as its just that little bit special...im sure all you cupra owners would agree with me

Im on my second one and i still love it ;)

I agree with Flashbsd. Its the going rate you've got to look at. I've had a few MK3 Golf VR6s before my Cupra and they only book just over £2K for a late 1997 Highline, yet i sold the 2 i owned, one for £5.2k and the other recently for £4.4k. Its basically what people are willing to pay for them.

Personally i prefer the MK3 shape Ibiza Cupra to the MK4. Plus, as time goes on you'll see less and less of them about; cause you always see one smashed up on the net somehwre.

Not really, see you are comparing the VR6 sales figures which do not follow book for one main reaosn, the VR6 is in stage 3 of its price cycle.

Stage 1 - the car is in th emarketplace and decreases from purchase price dependent on market trends

Stage 2- Car reaches rock bottom prices and goes through the banger stage

Stage 3 - exists closely along side stage 2 but its where good nick cars go and then you pay the going rate.

Other cars that are in stage 3 now are Rs turbo's, mk1 golf GTi's and even 205 Gti's are coming under the same banner

Does make me laught though that Mk3's are being sold for 7k for x plates etc, but if it took my 04 mk4 shape in for part ex i'd probably be offered about 6 for it,,,,,,,,,,

although have seen some cheapy mk3 cupra's knocking through the local auction for 4k, and 5k private sales are more common. i reckon yu may see the mk3's dip a bit more soon as now Leons are dropping so much and even LCR's are touching the 8k mark.

I mean 8 k on mk3 beeza cupra or 8k on an LCR, its a tough call, which i think will eventually feed through into the prices further on, all i know is owners will lose out more and the buyers will just be gaining, so much choice for your money!!

You need to remember that the market doesn't work as simple as that mate, Some people buy cars like 25th anniversary Golfs to lock them up in storage in the knowledge that 10 years after it's been released it's still going to be worth shed loads!

This guy has got himself a standard cupra with low miles if he keeps it standard and does weekend mileage (say 2/3k per year I'd imagine in 3 years time whean 95% of cupras are chipped and modified with 80k on the clock and he has a standard cupra with 37k on the clock - it'll still be worth quite a bit.

This isn't going to apply to a 1.4 ibiza, and people with cupra R's seem to think that their cars are already worth a 2k+ premium over the cupra ... I am sure in 5/6 years time they will be extreamly rare standard and being a limited edition 10 year old car these will be worth a lot more than your average 10 year old mk3 ibiza.

Make sense?

Like thermalp4 said about the VR6 ... yehh a VR6 is a good find with below 80k / standard and no rust but if you do find one they're not cheap! and the highline is worth more again :bleh:

I still see 2001 106 GTi's with 20k on the clock going for well over the parkers guide - but they are selling! ... hardly a classic on a 2001 plate but in 20 years time I am sure people will look back and say that the 106 GTi was a brilliant car as they do about the 205GTi and Mk1 Golf GTi's now.

i still want a 106 gti, but most are modified as said above, and still holding their value for low milers :(

I'd trade my cupra in for one, think theyre great! :D

Loving the cupra mind you, ok they have their down sides, but i actually smile every time that boost gauge hits 21 psi :)

Cheers Alpha. I was gonna reply but you got it right on the button.

Flashbd: I had a 106 gti not so long ago. It was a low mileage car with 20k on clock on 2002 02 plate.

38 year old guy had it from new. Never even been driven out of his own town. MINT!

One of the best cars i've driven. Handling is stupidly good, and power delivery over 4krpm is awesome. I'm sure Alphamale woudl like to comment on this one cause he was gonna buy one at one point.

That 106 was mint! still can't belive that these little french cars bring so much money?!? and people are going the same way with the Cupra ... good quality cars with 1.8 20v Turbo! ... just hope that car takes the VR6 route as apposed to the Fiesta RS Turbo route (but they are going up again)

Another car is the 106 rallye, I was looking to spend around 2.5k for a 1998 car with less than 60k on the clock and I tell you what - it was a struggle! owners know how much enthisiasts are willing to pay for ther cars so the owners rule the market and it's the same on here (fortunatly for us) if we sell our cars for £4k then that becomes what it's worth. If we hold out and sell them for 6k then people will spend that much on them as seen in the past and present.

But you do have a point with the LCR, If they drop to 9k Ibiza Cupra R's will be forced to be 6/7k and then Cupras will hang around 5/6k, can't see the LCR dropping too much though even when the new Mk2 Leon Cupra is released.

Thing is, if the Ibiza Cupra R was a lot different compared to the Ibiza Cupra then i wouldnt say so much. Like the Leon. The LCR and the Leon Cupra are two different cars hence the justified difference in price.

You talk to people that own Cupra R and they do really think that the car is a cut above. It is a nice car cause its got Brembos and OZ alloys as standard. But when i had my Cupra R I was dissappointed to find out that both cars chip to the same power. The engines are the same.

It was a gimmick by SEAT. I would have paid another 500-700 quid over mine for a cupra R no doubt, but £2k more is a bit much i think.

Both awesome cars anyway.

Mine was black. Not a single mark on it. The guy hardly drove it.

He took me out when i went to pick it up and he asked what did i want him to do to show me what the car could do?

I said to him just to take on a dual carriageway and give it sh*t!

He didnt take it over 4krpm! He liked the car as a vehicle to get from A to B. He always wanted one he said, but he bever ever thrashed it.

I doubt i'll ever find one like that again.

Allthough people say Peugeots are poor inside/interior, the Pug 106 GTI was spot on. Not enough in it to be poor. The white racing dials are awesome. Everything is in the right place.

It is a perfect racing hatch. But sadly not enough grunt for me. I was in two minds when i bought my Cupra. Pug 106 or the IBIZA?
Went for the Cupra in the end. 1.8T torque was just too tempting!

Went over my budget for the Cupra though. For the ££££ i spent on the Cupra i could have had a 2003 03 plate 106 GTI with under 17k on the clock! Take your pic on the colour.

Yeah i prefer the MK3 to the MK4 and i suppose people will always pay more for something that isnt available anymore
