Just a few questions about my Cupra...

I have a few little niggles with my Cupra, and am just after a few opinions/similar experiences, etc.

1. Recently, when I start the car early in the morning, the red engine temperature light comes on along with three beeps. I am not 100% if the lights flashes intermittently, or is continous when it is on! The light stays on for about 2 mins and then goes off and everything is fine. The car runs fine when it is on aswell. Any ideas on this??

2. The EPC light comes on every now and then. It has come on before, and I had it cleared on vagcom. But then earlier this week, it came on randomly on a drive out. It was wierd tho, as it came on at the same time as the Engine Management light (EML), and the car also went into limp mode. This was whilst on the motorway, and after slowing down in some traffic a bit later on, the EML came off and the car started running fine again; but the EPC stayed on and has done since. Could the two lights be related? The car hesitates slightly when coming on boost occasionally, so I have a feeling it needs new coilpacks, as the plugs are virtually brand new. Could it be the coilpacks that cause the hesitation and also are related to the EPC light? Asking, as it was just a bit strange how both lights and limp mode happened at exactly the same time!

3. Finally, the CD Changer doesnt want to play ball any more. It just comes up with 'ERROR' when you press the CD botton on the headunit. Any ideas on this one?!

Any information or help is greatly appreciated,

Tnanks very much :D

If topping up coolant doesnt work, try replacing the coolant tank as thats what i did and no longer have a problem with it. Cheap to do as tank costs like £10 from seat, just time consuming draining tank etc and refilling but new tank easy to fit and will fix ur problem. My disc changer had been sold on when i bought it so not sure wot ur disc changer problem could be. cheers :)

1. Coolant or coolant level sensor. Scrape it with a flat head screwdriver.

2. VAG COM it. EPC could be clutch pedal switch. EML could be anything.

3. Your changer is dirty, stuck or ****ed. Mine was all of the above so i replaced it.
