Hi Guys,

Just wanting any info from people with similar problem. My 06 FR TDi (3500miles)when engine is both cold/hot sometimes judders quite a lot when sat at traffic lights etc. Most times its fine but sometimes the whole car can rock-any1 help?

I've started using Shell diesel extra, could this cause the problem?

you probably have a worn or broken engine mount

if you lift the bonnet with the engine running you may well see it moving and if you rev the engine it may well move quite a lot

this is quite a common problem and quite east to repair yourself if you don't mind getting your hands dirty

There a re a few threads, I kow hey do judder anyway on idle, sometimes i get this in mine and my old golf was the same. But if its majorly noticable then get it booked in to be checked by SEAT. The fuel would'nt make much difference

Mine does the same sometimes 130 fr pd. Apparently its to do with the twin mass flywheel that these engines run. Spoke to my friend who is vw mechanic and he said some cars do it some don't. If it gets really bad like ideling around 600 rpm then take it to the dealer and get flywheel changed under warranty. My gear box vibrates quite bad accelrating in 4th gear. Just the coursness of the car.

My Ibiza used to shudder really noticeably at idle too.
The faintest touch on the accelerator would smooth it out, I got into the habit of doing so while waiting at traffic lights.

Mine does it too, shakes at idle. Sometimes quite bad - esp when after filling up with shell diesel extra - how odd.

Anyways, the flywheel has been replaced on my car aswell, but it still shakes so they recon a faulty replacement!! damn things.

Its going back in again next week for them to have another look at. Wish they wud sort it out.
