Jazz up your LCR splitter

I was not impressed with the dull grey effect of the LCR splitter on my MY03, but after thinking about painting it or maybe gettin it done in CF, it became obvious that that would be a waste of money because it catches on EVERYTHING!

So,after finding a can of lacquer in the garage I thought i'd put a couple of coats of lacquer on it - extremely cheap and easy and can be done DIY to every new splitter required! It just looks a bit more like its meant to be there because its shiny now.

Also, after scraping the splitter again today, i checked and the effect of the scrape and it doesn't look worse because its lacquered - if it was painted it would look pretty crap with a few scrapes on it!

I think on the next one i get, i may sand off the grainy texture then laquer it and see how it comes out.:D

laquer will flake after a while. that plastic is too porous unprepped, full of moisture

If thats the case, then the mkII version will be improved on :D

I'll give this one a few months and see how it goes. If it ain't working out, then i'll prep the next one properly. Either way, i aint keeping no more plain splitters on my car! ;)

I used to back to black the splitter when I washed it, looked so much better especially with the black paint.
