just got off the phone with jabbasport. I asked them about a price to remap my car and what sort of bhp i can expect once i've finished fitting my parts I have waiting to go on, which include a ko3s turbo a scorpion cat back, a 007pdv an induction kit a 4bpr and maybe if i can get one secondhand a bigger downpipe and catand a fmic they said because the ko3s ibiza cupras are problamatic and take alot more time to do, they wont be booking any in, sorry we cant help, was there reply.
Is this strange for such a main stream tuner or are all vag tuners as well acomodating? any where you can suggest to take my business to.

Thanks.

Yes it is strange.

They do take a while longer to map. Ibiza ecu is very fussy. I think usual mapping time is approx. 4 hours but with K03S they're looking at 6+ hours. Not sure on the in's and out's as to why, though.
Maybe they said that because they're incredibly busy at the moment. I know they're preparing for GTI or something (I called them the other day with a query). Do you think that when they said they won't book any in, does that mean never or just short-term? Be a real shame if they've lost interest. Their loss I guess!

they told me they have have no futire plans to book any in. bit pants really. been told to give jbs a try any views on these. i dont really want a generic map as I want to try and get as much as possible from the car.

At the moment the way I see it is, if I cant go Jabba for my K03S i'll go APR Stage 2, and then when I want more I'll most likely go for a big turbo APR Stage 3 set up... Where as before I would have gone IHI.

Can be classed as bad for business as a lot of people stay loyal to the first company they use to map a car that there happy with.

However I'm thinking of going AM04 and wonder if they'll still map them?

I think as Damo says its to do with Gti international coming up and its that time of year where everyone wants their car done for the summer meets and shows etc.

I went to vagtech near milton keynes the other day to get revo trial and some quotes for stuff and they said they'd call back. Few days later when they hadnt I rang them and the guy said he was sorry but they were rammed with cars for gti inters and he would get back to me as soon as he could.

Maybe Jabba could have been a bit more friendly like sorry we value your custom etc but we're just too busy at the moment would have been a bit better?

I must be one of the lucky one's to be booked in at Jabba.Phoned them 3 weeks ago and due to be remapped 28th June. Was told also that the ko3s was a problematic turbo and may require additional time.

if there's an issue its with the ibiza ecu's themselves.
once mapped they're fine, but they are a pain in the arse compared to other vag models...

they dont all react the same, dont flash the same, some dont flash repeatedly without having to direct flash & erase before.. which in tuner terms is Time.. (I know to my own cost. - I dont look forward to ibiza's myself despite having one of my own.)

I spoke to Jabba yesterday about this, had a good chat with them. It seems the reasons behind them being reluctant is Dodgy installs. For an example they had people who swapped to K03s turbos and some cars had pipes mixed up, vac lines in wrong places/connections, hoses not put on properly, things mixed up.

Which for jabba means fault finding for a few hours and repairing peoples handy work and hoses popping off etc...... And as he told me with being solid booked for 4-5 weeks and their own developments going on the last thing they need is to be fixing someone elses dogy work.

I know this doesnt apply to some people however there are alot of K03s conversions going on diy etc and things are done wrong, and it sounds that as the turbos are getting more popular with DIY work its not being done right. e.g. I thing it was one of our customers recently who had issues with low boost and it turned out the mechanic who fitted it got the vac lines completly worng when reconnected. another example I know of was a motor with a laguna ic and lots of samco with dodgy connections with the pipes constantly blowing off cause it wasnt done right.

So its not that they dont want to touch the K03s re-maps cause Mike said hes happy to do them and he has done plenty. He is trying to eliminate potential problems that will push back their schedule

i understand what you are saying as hters nothing worse thenfixing somebody elses balls ups, but it still doesn't help me get my car remapped.

true, I think Jabba want to be 100% happy that its done properly so if that involves a conversation along the lines of you saying that its 100%, it was fitted proffessionally, all logged/tested/re-checked etc so that they are confident its 100%

Depending on where abouts you live, Id say give a company called MRC Tuning a call he custom mapped my car in under 2 hours. And it wasnt done on a rolling road, he did it while i was driving the car. Which in theory is better than doing it on a rolling road.:D
