I'm not sure if any of you have them on the Ibiza but the rear ARB is pretty popular over on Briskoda. I have one myself and was very sceptical at first that a simple steel bar could affect the car's handling - the results speak for themselves - amazing.

Anyway to cut a long story short I have produced a fitting guide which I thought may help anyone thinking of it -

Look in the technical section.

my roll bars are ace on the cupra, i feel this mod would completely mess something up on mine. and for 210 pounds a bit pricey.

but no ones tryed it on fr of sport so may help but just need someone to try it, but personally i would get the cupras ARB setup if looking to update a seat ibiza.

because at end of the day it was developed for the fabia vrs cos of it bad understeer. don't know the effect on a seat and may have different effect on different suspension specs,

Surely the MK4 Ibiza has the same rear suspension setup as the Fabia or does the Cupra have a rear bar? I certainly can't see one in ETOS.

You don't have an anti roll bar on the rear as standard which is why this one was developed.

It doesn't seem to have any roll at all on the cupra hence why i said i would try the cupra setup and then get the rear one because doesn't the fabia have thick front arb so this one counteract it. on the lower spec ibizas they have a smaller front arb so sticking a really thick rear ARb on it would mess it up.

wasn't this developed for the fabia vrs and that it will also fit an ibiza and polo. but unsure of results in understeer and oversteer in conjunction with the front arb spec.

i.e putting it on a mk4 1.2 or mk4 fr what effect will it have.

sorry just read site (looks good)
"don't become a racing driver over night so learn how the car handles differently and adapt your driving style accordingly"

excellant point :) might work suspose you could sell on at briskoda if not happy with it ;)

I would imagine that the 130PD cars will have the same suspension setup as the Fabia vRS. The 160PD has some stronger bushes, not sure about shocks and springs. It was designed for the Fabia but will fit the Ibiza just the same.

You keep mentioning the Cupra setup - do you mean fitting Cupra springs and shocks or a Cupra front ARB? There is no rear ARB as standard.

Changing the ARB on the front will still not have the effect of having one on the rear.

I'm not selling it mate nor trying to convince anyone to buy it - I wrote the guide to help people with the fitting.

i know it is a very good guide and looks like a good product, well done on the site.

but yes if you put the cupra front arb on an ibiza with it shocks and spring you will have a good handling car!

my dough is going towards coilovers cos im happy with my roll,

maybe what would be ideal for a ibiza owner is to get the Fabia VRS front arb fitted and this in conjunction ;)

nice site once again hope someone does try it will be interested to see effects.

I have one on my FR and it has helped with the rear roll, the turn in is crisper and the car feels more solidly planted when doing high speed sweeping turns. Yes I agree that £200 is a little much for a torsion bar but they have to make them is small quantitys so that pushes the price up.

Agreed. My cousin has a 20VT Cupra which does feel a bit more solid in general but my FR TDi really appreciates this ARB. It works magic.

Have had my Jabba Rear ARB "luckily got a black one" fitted for a month now, and all I can say is that it is the best modification I have made to my little Ibiza.

Having spent £400 on a remap, £400 on getting a Helix race clutch installed and the £250 big brake upgrade, £200 is a total bargain for something that totally transforms the car from what was TBH a bit crap in the Handling department, to something that inspires confidence on any road and more importantly corners :D

I would without any doubt recommend this as the first modification anyone with a Mk4 Ibiza should make.

Like I said i was initially very sceptical about the bar having much of an effect. I am amazed, you can carry so much more speed through corners and roundabouts as well as better handling when driving A roads.

Likewise for the Fabia.... Best mod :)

No I'd say he best mod is a remap  if I had one  (not that I would with having a warranty to think of) but the Jabba ARB is definatly worth the money, better value than say a FMIC unfortunatly mine is green and has probably caught the attention of the dealers. I'm looking to add some coilover that may be a bit softer than the FR setup as that's theway I prefer my cars a bit softer on the spring ratesand dampin but stiffer in roll.

Sounds interesting. What is the diameter of the vRS front ARB in comparison to that on the FR TDi? I know the Cupra one is thicker. The addition of one on the rear might give me some more confidence in the corners. I lost that when we traded in the Mini for our FR last year.

vRS front ARB is 23mm
ibizaFR ARB (both tdi and 20vt) is 19mm
cupra arb is 20mm

there ya go..
the Jabba rear ARB is 23mm too.

another thing ive noticed about having the rear arb, because it keeps the back end flat, the rear tyres have not worn at all.... almost 15k of abuse and the tyres havent even worn 1mm.. i can still clearly see the "kumho" words in the centre groove :funk:
