Hi guys,

I imagine all cotton panel filters are much the same, but I know Green is the name normally bandied around on here. I've had a pretty decent quote from Storm Developments for a Custom Code remap with Forge 007P and J&R filter (sounds like they don't stock Green).

Has anyone used one of these on the 1.8T and are they any good? To start with it will just be in the stock airbox but I will eventually run a bigger feed pipe to the box and possibly smooth and drill it.

Cheers!

Boz

Bumpity bump...anyone?!

I'm guessing most peeps have gone with the tried & tested Green!! :)

I suppose all I need to know is whether it is likely to send my MAF doo lally? From what I gather the MAF on these engines don't take kindly to oily filters - are J&R filters ok for the 1.8T?

Any help greatly appreciated!

I think they might actually be called JR filters, not J&R - I think I misheard the fella on the phone! Still can't find much out about them though...

Oh well, he said they are basically the same as the Green ones - I'm sure there is not much difference between any of the panel filters!

have a look on the last page of my build under my sig.

Wow - somebody's been busy!! That reminds me, I really need to get busy with the clay bar, polish, sealant and wax once the sun comes out! Your motor looks stunning mate.

I'm not sure but I think the chap I spoke to quoted for a panel filter, whereas you are running a cone. Hopefully it will be alright! I must admit I would rather play it safe and go with Green but sounds like they can't get them for whatever reason.
