But this is a "mod" I really didn't want... For some reason everytime I open the driver's door (doesn't happen with any other door or the boot), I get 2 beeps from the alarm and all windows decide to open fully! Had a quick look around and can't see any obvious bad connections anywhere, changed the battery in the remote and disconnected the car's battery for a little while to no avail. Anybody had this before or have any idea what the cause is?:banghead:

How odd ! i had this and you are the only other person i have noticed that has had it , I have trawled everywhere to find info but nothing . I have taken the car to my local and they said to me there is a control box within the drivers door that may have got wet at some point.

I had this when we had all the snow but it would randomly beepthen open the windows when it was just sitting there minding its own buisness ! . fun as it let all the snow in :D.

It then moved to the same fault as you and now it has stopped all together :S . weather it has dried out im not sure but it may be something to check ?. If not it could also be an electrical connection loose !!

I know, how odd but this only started a couple of days ago and we've not had any rain (or snow) untill today. Might have a look behind the door card and see if there's anything obvious. If I'm quick enough and jump out of the car while the windows are dropping and shut the door, the windows stop where they are...

yeh sounds like something is sticking in the lock mechanism, for example if you hold the key in the lock in the unlock position all the windows will wind down, same happens if you hold it in the key in the lock position the windows will go up so something is sticking causing the windows to open

tell you something to try untill you get it sorted . Start the car up then open the door. I bet you it will beep but the windows will not drop :S.
It is such an annoying fault though ! , yer try that when you can or look for loose connections . You do want to be a little carefull whilst its doing it though as it may just unlock itself and put the windows down when your knowhere near it .

It did it to me whilst i was in a dodgey estate in basingstoke ! . very lucky i was as it was pitch black and was unlocked and windows down !!!..

as i said mine is fine touch wood but i cannot trust it at the moment as i think its going to restart again !

Mines started doing this, noticed after the snow we have had. Only when the passenger door is opened though, not throwing anything up on the diag. Mines a 1.8 petrol FR as well :S

Mines doing the same, too.

Apparently the central locking module gets wet, and can be affected by weather changes, i.e. when it starts getting warmer again, the damp can start evaporating within the box and causing yet more havoc! Thats all i know at the moment!
