Its finally happend to me (clutch pedel box) Couple of questions.

Well it happend! sat eating my burger king dumped my rubbish got back in the car pressed the clutch in and it just stuck to the floor, I managed to pull the pedel up and and a little snapped white clip fell into the footwell. Now when i pussh the pedel back down it hits the floor with abit of force so does this mean that my clutch pedel has snapped or would it just be a matter of replacing this white clip?

Ive had a search and found a fair few decent posts about this but was a little unsure weather the acual pedel box had snapped or if its just the clip thats at fault? Afterall i didnt want to strip the pedel outto have it welded if its a matter of just replacing this white clip.

If it is just a matter of replacing the white clip does anybody have a part number or what i would ask for at the dealership?

Any help would be great, as the cars freshly washed but just sat on the drive unable to move

it happened to mine the other day, you will have to first get a new clip if its broken mine luckily did'nt break though, then take the pedal off, theres a sticky by matt on here which tells you the best way to remove it, then you will have to get the bracket on the pedal welded up, then just replace the clip in the pedal and build back up, make sure its light when doing it though as i did mine the same night it broke and was a right pain in the dark!

Oh right ok, so its deffinatly a weld up job then? I see the sticky by matt looks very helpful. A job for me one evening this week , I was look at a picture earlyer and will it just be the top of the box/bracket that needs welding or could it have broke worse?

Any ideas what i ask for a the dealers for the white clip.

should imagine it will just be the box/bracket. mine had just lifted the top of the bracket up and folded it over so i just tapped it down with a hammer and welded around it so theres no chance of it folding over again. dont know the part number for the clip mate sorry, im sure some one will have it on here if you do a search.

Just need to reinforce the welds on the box/bracket mate oh and source a new clip lol

if u dont mind welding upside down u can leave da pedal on

Its a pain in the ass mate taking the pedal of is a piece of piss but putting back together is tight especially pushing the spring back in position be prepared for swearing and taking skin of knuckles as i did. Welding it is position i wouldn't recommend cause if you melt the white plastic clip its all got t come off ne way!

Ths happend to me before it happend to you freddie all fixed and sorted now

but i agree its a pain to put back on, took me 20mins to get off and about 2hrs to get back to normal.
