Hello Everyone, my first post here!

Been reading these forums for months (even found the car i bought on here), so much info, fantastic site!

Bought a X Reg Leon Cupra back in january, and have been resisting the temptation to start modifying ever since.. 'unfortunatly' the standard dump valve has started playing up so have had to replace it with the forge equivilent! of course whilst i was ordering that it just wouldn't have been fair not to order a pipercross panel filter and a short shifter at the same time!

I fear i have started on a slippery slope!

Think ill sort the :censored: rear wiper next...

I have not been able to go down that slippery slope yet because of funds, but I am sure it will happen soon enough when I can build up some cash.

Fabia rear wiper first as everyone tells me is a must - I like pushing the boat out don't I?:)

Have just done the short-shifter myself...absolutely love it!!!

5min job to fit, and the return is very satisfying.

As has been said it's all down-hill from now ;)

Those clips are a total bastid to remove! You have to physically abuse them to get them off. Took me bloody ages on the DV because it was the first time I'd had to fight with them.

Pliers, metal cutters, screwdrivers jammed in and twisted... just do whatever you need to do to rip the buggers out! They are single use clips that are replaced with jubilee clips so you don't need them again :)

I'll have another go, and be a bit more aggressive with it :). I got the little one on top off, it's the side one i'm struggling with, and i can see the one underneath is of the same design so no idea how i'm gunna get that off!

I found that jamming a flathead screwdriver inside the square tab part and twisting it helped. That gains you enough room to get pliers or cutters or some sort inside it.

Good luck!

If have some nice square jawed pliers, you can grab the little bent over tab and straighten it or just twist it off, then the strap bit with the slot that goes over the tab pops off...

You'll have no idea how to follw the above, I bet
