Hello Everyone !

Last november i bought a new Seat Ibiza 5d 1.4 TDI Style Connect. Options included Upgrade Business and Upgrade Sound. Head unit is called "Media System Navi"

I was under the impression that this unit supported the playback off lossless audio format FLAC. To test this out, i put 3 FLAC files on my 32GB FAT32 SD card, which further contains my complete mp3 collection. All 3 files played perfectly/flawlessly.
I then bought a 128GB Sd card, reformatted this as xFAT en copied 94GB of FLAC files to the card. At first all seemed ok, the files would play, scrolling trough the folders was very smooth.
First time playing the music while driving, something weird happined. During playback the head unit would reset/restart. I thought maybe a corrupt file, but no. This happens during playback of every file at some point. Sometimes at the beginning, middle or end.

I tried to reformat the sd card as NTFS. No sollution.
Copied 30GB of FLAC files to my FAT32 32GB SD card. No sollution.
Re-encoded all of my flac files to remove metadata. No sollution.

What does work : Just putting 100 or so FLAC files on any of the sd cards. The booklet that comes with the unit says it will support FLAC, 128GB SD cards and up to 4000 files from 1 media source.

I'm at a loss basicly. Does anyone here have any ideas ? Would be most welcome.

Dealer said i should buy a 8GB card and play from that..... rofl.

TIA everyone !

Looking at it, the original booklet didn't say it supported FLAC, I guess this has been implemented in an update.

There are many ways to play a FLAC file, commonly it is decoded into its original wav file which is usually twice the size. What I think may be happening is the unit is decoding the FLAC files and storing it on your SD Card, so you need plenty of room on it, hence why having a few works and having many does not.

To test, try fill the SD Card 50% and play the music, they add or remove until the limit is found.

Thnx for the tip. Converted all the files to wav format and those seem to play without any issues. Card has 1% space left hehe. Next step will be to test this with a 256GB SD.

I've got a 256Gb SD card in mine; no problems whatsoever
