Isofix Child car seat question- 2008 Altea

Hi, I'm very very pregnant so getting our car seat fitted before baby appears. We have a silver cross Isofix car seat but cannot fit it properly in our 2008 Altea. The pole extender thing that should touch the floor of the car is half an inch shy of touching the floor when fully extended. Has anyone else had this problem? Can't go to the shop we got it from to get fitted due to covid 19 and I'm a bit worried

Had no problem with the Isofix base for our grandchildren, but it was near the end of its travel, sorry don't know the make!
A piece of wood or similar to effectively raise the floor should do the trick as long as it can't move about the floor - the leg is an additional brace with the rear clamps taking all the strain. Hope you get it sorted.

Yeah I phoned my dad who said to put a bit of wood under it but I wonder if that's really safe enough? Hoping lockdown is over soon and I can have someone better minded than me come look at it. Thank you
