just outta interest what happens when u hit the rev limiter and didnt realise? would it do any damage? or is it just there to stop the car from doing damage so if u hit it tis all cool?

errm looks like u gotta solder this new chip in, some of this persons feedback seems to good, ive been through them though and they do seem genuine and not made up lol. so all these ppl cant be wrong. in the long run the strain on the car wont be too good though right?

probably still tells ecu that its cold air coming in 24/7 for richer mix fuel/air like the cheapo mods

Why do people have to be so snobbish about things like this? What the guy is selling is a generic remapped chip. Its not going to be as good as a chip that was remapped on the car, no way will it, but would be the maps stolen from a GTi that had (most probably) a sports exhaust and a K&N filter put on it.

The rev limiter will probably be increased some and the power delivery should be smoothed out considerably.

I had a generic chip on my old GT Polo, can honestly say that is was pretty impressive for the amount of money they are, numerous people were showing 5-7bhp increases and a smoother power curve after fitting them.

May not seem like much, but is a helluva lot when dealing with a non-turbo'd Digifant engine! Especially for the £20-£40 being charged!

I will be getting one soon enough. Just need to get the water pump to stop making a squealing noise first!!

I'm also hoping it will sort out the power in my car, after 6k there is absolutly no power at all and a short while later it hits the rev limiter. I rarely ever take the engine up that far but it just seemed a little odd that it would build and build and then suddenly drop into nothing!!

I take it no one has tried this or bought it yet? Was thinking of buying once i have been paid in a few days.
Quick question would i be right in assuming my car is a K-Jet engine, it's a 1995 GTi 8v?

Cheers
Rich

Yeah i looked up the blitz chip they had gone out of business, wondered if this was the same sort of thing. I have even been on another forum and looked it up seems pretty good, just wondered if anyone had bought it since this thread was posted.
What is the chance of this buggering up my ecu?

yep they give an advance on your timing.they dont increase your rev limit to extreme, its only about 100rpm,but check with this one.the blitz chip worked well for me with an open air filter and a decated exhaust sharpened things up a bit ,but was total balls with a flowed head and highlift cams,i needed a much higher rev limit.the blitz was worth the 40 bucks not sure about these ones tho;)
