Hi

I've just had a quote for some work to be done to my 1.4, just wondering if anyone could give me an idea if this is a good price. All parts are supplied and fitted. The work to be done is:

- Front Disks and Pads
- Rear Shoes
- Lambda sensor
- Door Lock Kit (Pin between lock and door has snapped, but apparently a kit can be bought to fix this).

The quote they have given me is between £200 and £250, depending on whether it is just the rear shoes that need doing, or if any other work is required.

The car will also be picked up from my house in the morning, and returned to me that evening.

Does this sound like a decent quote? Unfortunately i dont have the time/knowledge to do the work myself, but just wanted to be sure i wasnt being ripped off.

Thanks
Dan

£55 delivered for front discs and pads, and rear shoes.

Door lock kit can be picked up from a scrappy for £1, or from Ebay for about £8 I think.

Lambda probe is £40 delivered.

Thanks for your help with this, seems like it's not a great price afterall!!

Where did you get these prices from? Mines a 1999 fresco if that makes any difference.

Thanks again,
Dan

I would have said that price isnt too bad considering they will pick the car up and deliver it.

Obviously sourcing the parts yourself will be cheaper but you are getting them fitted and they will be fitted properly(presumably) and they will all be new with warranty.
At a guess most places are charging £30-50 an hour for labour and they will charge you for collection too so thats where the rest of the price comes from.

Still it would be cheaper to do it yourself
