Bonjourno ppl,
Just took my car up the road and not 5 mins into my journey my car started to jurk and sounded like it was miss-firing for a couple of seconds. It kept doing this for another minute or so (when it was a normal driving temp) then went away. i've sprayed some carb cleaner in her but i've also noticed my air filter is in a very bad way...theres lots of holes in it (Its hard to keep an eye on my air filter as its positioned behind the bumper) I havent took it out yet to see if the carb cleaner worked because i worried if there might be something else on its way out which may cause me to breakdown (i live in the sticks, so dont fancy breaking down in the middle of nowhere) :(

Cheers,
Kieron

P.S. Dont worry the filters being changed lol

mine occasionally used to do it on my 1.4... i always found soaking the leads ends in wd40, the plug tops, inside the distributor cap, and anything else i could think of... That used to work, so i guess you could try that for free :) if theres a dodgy connection from the spark that should solve it :)

Its a 2.0 8v.

ibiza_95 now that you mention about wd40, i washed my car last weekend and and it wouldnt start, didnt even turn over so i left it 15 mins and sprayed pretty much everything in wd40 and it started. So do you think it could be a knock on affect from that?

well if you think it might be miss firing, then its probably if it was fine before you washed it something to do with the spark, so maybe a good dousing of WD-40 on everything will help, even if you did it before it could be worth doing it again to drive out any left moisture

Just give them a good spray with WD40 again and wipe everything down. I cleaned my engine bay before and started the car after it... let it run for about 20mins, missed like crazy. Sprayed a load of WD40, wiped everything down and sprayed again, went for a long drive once it idled tidy.

check your wires going into the mass air flow mine had broken and was not connecting properly crimped a new bit of wire to it and wrapped it up happy days
