Is there a coil pack shortage or just the North West?

Hi all,

Need a coil pack replaced (vag diagnositc suggested a sporadic misfire), live in Chester and work in Liverpool.

Have tried GFS (none in stock), also tried 2 local garages, and 4 dealerships.

Earliest anyone can get me booked in to replace it is in 3 weeks !!

Plus one of them said I had to have an ECU update before they would even look at the coil pack !?? And another said they would want to do their own diagnostic on it...

In the meantime I'm driving a car that kangaroos and stalls when idle...

Any suggestions ??

Ring up a parts department and order a coil pack and fit it yourself? Try SEAT, VW and Audi dealers they should all have it somewhere! Just make sure you know your engine code

speak to GSF car parts

they have branches all over.

always had plenty in when i have had one go

google them to find your local branch - and they're a shed load cheaper than a seat stealer !
