On the mk4 ibiza, is the front camber adjustable because i've looked at it and how the
shocker slides into the back of the hub makes me believe that there is no adjustment!!

I'm thinkin the lower I go the more negative camber i'm going to get!!!!

Cheers for any advice!

Well, in theory there is no deliberate allowance for camber adjustment in the design, but due to all these cars based on this platform (Skoda Fabia) being designed for "low tech" assembly or re-assembly, the fixing points all have over sized holes so there is some adjustment possible.

You are spot on as regards lowering the ride will affect the camber, I seem to remember that there is an adjustable TCA rear bush - but other than that it would be down to moving the top mount out a bit - might be a kit for that as well.

you know what the answer is though...... don't run the sump on the ground

too much camber will ruin cornering & braking (as well as straight line grip)

Yes, all based on VW chassis I thought. As VW is the parent group.
Even audi is based on VW?

yes, i believe audi are too, but they develop quite a few their own components which the rest of the group also use

i thought SEAT & SKODA used VW platforms  and the Ibiza was based on the Polo

Okay this is an easy one to put right - first, which marque launched their car first - Skoda. Next, what is the platform code for most common parts - Fabia Finally, where are the common running gear parts (mostly the bits that fail) manufactured - CZ.

True Skoda is part of VAG but it is not just a VW brand, I think that the Fabia was the first job that Skoda were given a free hand in designing - but there again some concepts of the running gear would have come from what had already been done on the Audi A2 - but Skoda would have had to cheapen them to hold the car price down.

Not really, most of Audi stuff is Audi, with the exception of the A3 which uses the Golf platform and the TT which also uses the Golf platform. The only Audi (modified) platforms used elsewhere are/were the VW Passat B5/B5.5 and Skoda Superb (first model) and now off course the Seat Exeo which uses a "dumped/aborted" Audi platform.
