Sorry, just browsing seat site and saw that there are no longer any new 1.8t FR's listed as an option. So they stopped using the 1.8T in the ibiza now??????

Knew it had to happen sooner or latter, in fact when you think about it, its a little embarasing that the Mk5 is still not here, it is 2008 now after all,

Shame as the 1.8t is the best of em all in my opinion. Saw one yesterday for 6500 with 25000 miles on the clock and wondered how much they were new now.

See Cupra.net news. Range topping MK4 is now the PD130 once more :)

I suppose you have to shell out on the Polo GTi if you want that engine in a small VAG car now. I assume they are still on sale.

You can really tell the Mk5 development has taken longer than expected.

The Mk4 was 'run out' last year, seems they're really flogging the dead horse (so to speak) to keep it going for a few more months

Am I right in thinking the Mk5 is coming out as a five door first with the three door several months later? That means there won't be a really sporty new Ibiza for a long time.

Skoda are in a similar situation with the new Fabia as they haven't got a VRS on sale at the moment and nobody seems to know when, or even if, the new one will be available. There are rumours that they are having problems getting a suitable engine to fit.

You're right there's two bodyshells - but I don't know which will come first

I imagine they will launch a 'sport' at launch - which hopefully will be something half reasonable (by this I don't mean a 1.4 16v)

It's rare that a manufacturer launches all it's models at the same time.

But I reckon poverty spec, eco model & sport will be all at launch
