Is my Cupra ready for a stage 2 map?

My 2004 ibiza cupra is currently running a Revo stage 1 map, but I would like to get it remapped (stage 2) in the near future.

As its a cupra it already has a FMIC, and also has the following mods since the stage 1 map :

Decat back exhaust
Forge 007p
Green Cotton panel filter
Forge TIP

After a quick browse of the P Torque section, it seems that a K03s is also needed - however as I have just fitted the forge TIP I don't really want to swap turbos.

So would I see gains going from a Stage 1 to Stage 2 with the above mods?

Many thanks

Anthony

Yes you have enough by the loks of it.

You don't need a Ko-3S as you already have one on your car. think you are looking at the Mk3 cupra information, mk4's have the K03s standard

will you see a huge difference? not sure, as obviously REVo is already going to have taken your intercooler into account on its map and REVo do have a slightly higher output map than other stage 1's.

Now i may be going back a bit, but i persoanlly think the "stage 2" maps were more aimed at FR owners who did'nt have front moutns etc.

Best thing to do is maybe seeing what your running now, you may find its actually quite good and then balance the potential gains over that.

But even a good going over will see a very max of 245 on standard turbo,

So just makesure your not wasting money is the main thing here, sure a 1.8T owner will comment soon as a few years since i had my 1.8T which ended up as a test bed for most of the things you guys do now.

Looking at your mods, going to Stage 2 would need a turbo back exhaust with hi-flow cat and maybe an uprated fuel rail!

You won't see massive gains going from Stage 1 to Stage 2 though! Maybe an extra 20bhp and likewise torque?

:headhurt: In that case I wouldn't bother. You will see very minimal gains over a Stage 1 map. I would use the money to get the handling set-up right and maybe replace suspension bushes and engine mounts along the way...

Was the map done with these mods on? I ask this as a good mapper (one that can write the maps and not just upload generic ones) would be able to tweek a map for the mods you have done!

Stage 2 should take you to around 230ish, that's what I'm running at the moment. The mods you have put above should do the trick nicely. I've added a Forge throttle hose to that and am going to put a power gasket on the inlet manifold this weekend, will see if it helps much!

i noticed the differnce when going from stage 1 to stage 2, the car pulls so much harder in every gear, worth while upgrade, im sure the charge to go from stage 1 to 2 is only between £50 -£100 correct me if im wrong

I think thats only if you go with the same company that did the stage1 map though isnt it? Anyways not sure myself but someone will clear it up :D

Wow - cheers for all the replies :)

The map was done by the previous owner, with only the decat back exhaust present. Since then the Forge 007p, Forge TIP Green cotton panel filter have been added.

it may have been mapped, then the downpipe etc put on afterwards.

All bar the exhaust were put on after mate.

I didn't realise the MK4 had a KO3s - mint :)

So the general consensus is that stage 2 will require 4bar FPR and maybe fuel rail?

Is it worth just having it mapped anyway? I would hope to see some gains wouldn't i?

Many thanks

Anthony

sounds like you need a down pipe to me as your saying you have a decat back which means you still have a restrictive downpipe although i beleive you can go to stage two without a uprated downpipe like damien did but the downpipe does make a huge difference when fitted.

Agreed, putting the milltek downpipe oon mine before I even had it mapped made a big difference!
