Is it worth keeping?

I had some gear and clutch problems with my 1.4 took it into the garage and it needs a new gearbox and clutch which will cost a lot. I just spent around £800 on the engine and head gaskett because they had problems about a month ago.

I only got the car in January and have spent so much money just on getting it fixed, i haven't even had the cahnce to mod it and i dont think it is worth much! So i wanted your opinions on weather you think i should keep it or scrap it and get a new car?

keep it. sounds like youve had same problems as me. when the problems are sorted its a great car! I've spent loads on mine with probs i've had! but worth it in the end!

this happened to me with a polo, it depends whether spending the money on it will be cost effective to its immediate resale, if you can buy a better one for less money then whats the point.
Are you taking it to a seat garage or an independant vag specialist?

It all depends.. if you sell the car now how much money could you get for it and could you afford to buy better at the same value or fork out more for something newer... then potentailly have faults with that too...

My gear box has just packed up on mine... but i'm fixing it and keeping it cause i love the car too much to sell...

I see where your coming from seli, and i do love the car when it is working. I suppose not much else major can go wrong after all this! i think i will keep her till the end of the year.

I didnt take it to a vag specialist just my local garage (not seat).
